What is the difference between a windproof and a soft flame lighter?

A soft flame is the standard flickering flame you get from a Clipper or a disposable, and it blows out easily outdoors. A windproof or jet flame burns hotter under pressure and stays lit in wind, which is why it suits outdoor use, though it gets through gas faster.

Can Clipper lighters be refilled?

Yes. Clipper lighters are designed to be refilled with standard butane gas and the flint can be replaced using the tamper built into the base. That is the main reason they outlast disposable lighters and why many people stay with the brand.

What gas do refillable lighters take?

Standard butane lighter gas. Universal 300ml cans come with a set of adapter nozzles that fit almost every refillable lighter, including Clipper and most jet flames. Refill through the valve in the base with the lighter upside down.

Do I need to be 18 to buy lighters?

Yes. Lighters and lighter refills are age-restricted products in the UK and we only sell to customers aged 18 and over. Age verification is carried out at checkout and ID may be requested on delivery.

Can I buy lighters and gas wholesale?

Yes. We supply shops, convenience stores and forecourts across the UK with trade pricing on trays of lighters and cases of gas refills. Open a trade account for wholesale rates on the full range.

About this collection ▾

Lighters are the line nobody plans to buy and everybody needs, which is why they belong on a counter rather than a shelf. Clipper is the one people keep — refillable, replaceable flint, and the tamper in the base that means it rarely gets thrown away. Alongside those we stock electronic and flint disposables, windproof jet flames for outdoors, and the universal butane gas refills that keep the refillables going. Gas cans are usually sold in 300ml and come in trays of twelve for trade. Everything here is age restricted to 18 and over, and it all ships from UK stock with next-day dispatch.
